Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Post Their Strongest Inflows of 2026 as BTC Nears $87K

U.S. Crypto ETFs Roar Back to Life as Institutional Money Returns

Institutional appetite for digital assets snapped back sharply this week, with U.S.-listed Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds together absorbing more than $1.27 billion in fresh capital on Monday alone. The move coincided with bitcoin's sharpest price rebound in months, pushing the world's largest cryptocurrency to levels not seen since January.

Bitcoin ETFs Log Their Biggest Day of the Year

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $998.95 million on Monday, the largest single-day total since the funds launched in early 2024 and their strongest session of 2026 so far. BlackRock's IBIT led the pack with $381.37 million, followed by Ark & 21Shares' ARKB at $289.12 million and Fidelity's FBTC at $238.84 million. Morgan Stanley's MSBT, Bitwise's BITB, and Grayscale's GBTC and Bitcoin Mini Trust rounded out the day's demand, and notably, not a single fund reported an outflow.

Monday marked the third consecutive day of net inflows, lifting total demand since September 17 to roughly $1.59 billion. That streak follows a rougher patch earlier in the month, when the same funds shed a combined $746 million over two sessions amid a broader market pullback.

The renewed buying tracked closely with bitcoin's price action. After bottoming near $76,000 on September 17, bitcoin has rallied more than 13%, briefly touching an intraday high above $87,300 — its strongest level since January — before settling in the $86,000-to-$86,500 range in Tuesday's Asian trading session.

Ethereum ETFs Ride the Same Wave

Ether products shared in the momentum, pulling in roughly $270 million on the day, among the largest single-day hauls for the funds this year. BlackRock's ETHA topped the list with $110.06 million, while Fidelity's FETH added $72.96 million and Grayscale's Ether Mini Trust brought in $59.30 million. Smaller inflows into HYPE and ZEC-linked products added to the broader risk-on tone, while XRP ETFs finished the session roughly flat.

What's Driving the Turnaround

The rebound comes despite a stretch of unfavorable headlines for the industry, including a stalled Senate crypto market-structure bill and the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023. Analysts point to easing macroeconomic pressure — including softer oil prices and retreating Treasury yields — alongside a short squeeze in derivatives markets as key catalysts behind the swift reversal in sentiment.

With three straight days of inflows now in the books, traders are watching whether $85,000 can hold as a new support floor, and whether sustained ETF demand has the momentum to carry bitcoin toward the $90,000 mark in the sessions ahead.
