What is Jupiter Perps?

Jupiter Perps is the perpetual-futures product within Jupiter, a widely used Solana trading ecosystem. It uses a liquidity-pool model: traders open leveraged long or short positions against a pool of assets supplied by liquidity providers, who earn fees and act as the counterparty. Perpetual futures have no expiry, and funding-style payments keep positions aligned with spot prices.

How does the pool model affect risk?

Because trades settle against a shared pool rather than an order book, liquidity providers collectively take the other side of traders' bets. LPs can gain when traders lose and lose when traders win, and they are exposed to the assets held in the pool. Traders, meanwhile, face leverage risk: if margin falls below maintenance, positions are liquidated and collateral can be lost.

What did our review measure?

We recorded roughly $767.6M in value locked, one of the larger figures in this group, and an endpoint latency of 164 ms. Our measured on-chain age is about 2.6 years. Our automated review found 0 audits for the tracked deployment, single-chain coverage, and an inconclusive status-page result. The zero-audit finding reflects what our process surfaced, not a definitive claim that no security review exists.

What are the risks?

  • Leverage and liquidation: volatile Solana markets can trigger fast liquidations.
  • Liquidity-provider exposure: the pool can lose to profitable traders and is exposed to its underlying assets.
  • Oracle and chain risk: pool-based perps rely on price feeds and inherit Solana network risk.
  • Unverified audits: confirm security reviews yourself before trading with size.

Who is it for?

Jupiter Perps suits Solana-native traders who want leveraged perps with meaningful measured liquidity, and LPs who understand they are the counterparty. It is not a low-risk yield product, nor a fit for those who require confirmed audits up front.

The larger measured liquidity here can mean tighter pricing for traders, but it does not reduce the fundamental leverage risk on any single position. For liquidity providers, remember that the pool's return is tied to the mix of assets it holds and to whether traders are net winners or losers over time, so a strong headline yield can reverse. As with the other Solana venues, keep network congestion in mind when planning how you would exit under stress.

How Jupiter Perps scores

Scored on the criteria that matter for perpetual dexs.

Perpetual DEXs#6 of 156.16 / 10100% measured
SCALEScale of value trusted
30% weight8/10

$767.6M in value locked (DefiLlama). Capital is the market voting with its money — scored on a log scale, so the jump from $10M to $100M counts for more than $10B to $20B.

AUDITSecurity audits
26% weight2/10

No published audits on DefiLlama. Not proof of insecurity, but an unaudited contract holding funds is a red flag.

TRACKTrack record
18% weight8/10

Live 2.6 yr (time since DefiLlama listing (a floor on true age)). Most failures happen young, so time survived is real signal.

REACHMulti-chain reach
10% weight6/10

Deployed on 1 chain (DefiLlama). Breadth is a minor tie-breaker — a focused single-chain protocol can still be excellent.

PERFLatency
8% weight10/10

Median 164 ms to first byte from the live interface, our own probe, slowest sample discarded, single location. Compared only within this category.

measured 2026-08-25 11:09 UTCevidence ↗
STATUSStatus transparency
8% weight5/10

A status page exists but publishes no feed we could parse — readable, not auditable. Part of that may be our blind spot (we read three platforms).

Where we docked points

Security audits: No published audits on DefiLlama. Not proof of insecurity, but an unaudited contract holding funds is a red flag.

Who it’s NOT for

Anyone putting size into it: it holds funds in smart contracts with no published audit. Fine to experiment with, not to trust with a position you cannot afford to lose.

FAQ

How do Jupiter Perps work?+

Traders take leveraged long or short positions against a shared liquidity pool. Liquidity providers supply that pool and act as the counterparty for fees.

Did you find audits?+

Our process found none for the tracked deployment. That reflects what our scan surfaced, not proof that no security work exists. Verify current audits yourself.

How much liquidity did you measure?+

About $767.6M in value locked, one of the larger readings in this group, alongside a 164 ms endpoint latency.

Is providing liquidity safe?+

No. LPs can lose to net-profitable traders and are exposed to the pooled assets and oracle risk. It is not a fixed-yield product.
