our probe

Kamino Lend, often called K-Lend, is a decentralized lending market built on Solana. Users supply crypto to earn interest and borrow other assets against overcollateralized deposits, benefiting from Solana's low fees and fast settlement. It ranks eighth of fifteen in our Lending platforms category, with a score of 7.46.

How Kamino Lend works

The protocol uses a pooled money-market model adapted for Solana. Suppliers earn variable interest paid by borrowers, borrowers post collateral and must stay overcollateralized, and undercollateralized positions can be liquidated. Solana's speed means liquidations and rate updates happen quickly, which can be an advantage in fast markets but also leaves little time to react to a deteriorating position.

What is oracle risk, and why highlight it here?

An oracle is the price feed a lending protocol uses to value collateral and decide when to liquidate. If a feed is wrong, stale, or manipulated, the protocol can liquidate healthy positions or fail to liquidate bad ones, leaving lenders exposed. On a fast chain, prices update rapidly and liquidations execute within moments, so the quality and timeliness of the oracle matter even more than on slower networks. Borrowers here should keep a comfortable collateral buffer precisely because there is little time to top up during a sudden drop.

What our data shows

Our measurements record about $1.2B in total value locked on a single chain, with roughly 2.8 years of on-chain history and two audits on record. Endpoint responsiveness was strong at around 48ms. We did not find a dedicated public status page.

Risks to weigh

  • Single-chain exposure: the protocol depends on Solana; network congestion or outages affect access and liquidations.
  • Oracle risk: fast markets make timely, accurate price feeds especially important.
  • Liquidation risk: quick markets can move against a position before you can adjust it.
  • Smart-contract risk: audited but not risk-free.

Who is it for?

Kamino Lend suits users active on Solana who want a large, established lending venue for mainstream assets and value low fees and fast execution. It is less suitable for those seeking multi-chain diversification, or users uncomfortable with the pace at which Solana positions can change during volatility.

We assess scale, audits, track record, chain reach, latency and status transparency. We do not measure interest rates, which are variable; check them in the app.

How Kamino Lend scores

Scored on the criteria that matter for lending platforms.

Lending platforms#10 of 158.05 / 10100% measured
SCALEScale of value trusted
33% weight9/10

$1.23B in value locked (DefiLlama). Capital is the market voting with its money — scored on a log scale, so the jump from $10M to $100M counts for more than $10B to $20B.

AUDITSecurity audits
31% weight8/10

2 published audits with links (DefiLlama) — read the findings yourself. Audits reduce risk, they do not remove it.

TRACKTrack record
22% weight8/10

Live 2.8 yr (time since DefiLlama listing (a floor on true age)). Most failures happen young, so time survived is real signal.

REACHMulti-chain reach
14% weight6/10

Deployed on 1 chain (DefiLlama). Breadth is a minor tie-breaker — a focused single-chain protocol can still be excellent.

FAQ

What chain is Kamino Lend on?+

Kamino Lend runs on Solana. Our data tracks it on that single chain, so its assets, liquidity and performance reflect the Solana network.

How does Solana's speed affect lending here?+

Fast settlement means rate updates and liquidations happen quickly. That can help in volatile markets but also gives you less time to react to a position nearing liquidation.

Is Kamino Lend audited?+

Our data records two audits and roughly 2.8 years of on-chain history. Audits and track record reduce risk but do not remove smart-contract, oracle or liquidation risk.

Does coinpulsepoint track Kamino's rates?+

No. We assess scale, audits, track record, chain reach, latency and status transparency. Rates are variable and should be verified directly.
