What is Unit?

Unit (Hyperunit) is a gateway that tokenizes external assets, such as BTC, ETH and SOL, so they can be used on the Hyperliquid network. Functionally it acts as a bridge/tokenization layer, bringing assets from their native chains into the Hyperliquid ecosystem. In other words, it widens what can be held and traded on Hyperliquid beyond the chain's native assets.

Our data

We track about $724.7M in associated value, ranking Unit 11th of 15 with a score of 5.32. It spans 5 chains in our data and we measured roughly 187 ms of endpoint latency. The tracked deployment is around 1.5 years old. Our review did not credit audits in scope and found no public status page, which are the main drags on its score.

Risks to understand

As a relatively young tokenization gateway, Unit's central risks are the custody and minting mechanism for the assets it represents and the concentration of activity around a single ecosystem. Without audits captured in our scan or a public status page, operational transparency is limited from our vantage point. Newer bridges carry elevated risk simply because they have less battle-tested history, and bridging infrastructure as a whole is a leading target for exploits. None of that means a specific problem exists, but it argues for caution and modest position sizing.

Who is it for?

  • Good fit: Hyperliquid users who want to bring BTC, ETH or SOL into that ecosystem.
  • Poor fit: Users who require published audits, a status page, or a long operating track record before trusting a bridge.

A note on maturity

The most important context for Unit is that it is young and tightly coupled to one ecosystem. New tokenization gateways have not yet been tested across multiple market cycles or stress events, which is exactly when custody and minting assumptions are proven or broken. That is not an accusation; it is the base rate for early infrastructure. The absence of audits in our scan and of a public status page means less external visibility if something goes wrong. Our figures are a point-in-time snapshot of value, reach and latency; confirm current supported assets and mechanisms in the app, and keep exposure proportionate to that uncertainty.

How Unit scores

Scored on the criteria that matter for crypto bridges.

AUDITSecurity audits
32% weight2/10

No published audits on DefiLlama. Not proof of insecurity, but an unaudited contract holding funds is a red flag.

SCALEScale of value trusted
28% weight8/10

$724.7M in value locked (DefiLlama). Capital is the market voting with its money — scored on a log scale, so the jump from $10M to $100M counts for more than $10B to $20B.

TRACKTrack record
20% weight6/10

Live 1.5 yr (time since DefiLlama listing (a floor on true age)). Most failures happen young, so time survived is real signal.

REACHMulti-chain reach
12% weight9/10

Deployed on 5 chains (DefiLlama). Breadth is a minor tie-breaker — a focused single-chain protocol can still be excellent.

STATUSStatus transparency
8% weight2/10

No public status page found. Nothing about its reliability can be verified from outside — including by us.

Where we docked points

Security audits: No published audits on DefiLlama. Not proof of insecurity, but an unaudited contract holding funds is a red flag.

Who it’s NOT for

Anyone putting size into it: it holds funds in smart contracts with no published audit. Fine to experiment with, not to trust with a position you cannot afford to lose.

FAQ

What does Unit do?+

It tokenizes assets like BTC, ETH and SOL so they can be used on the Hyperliquid network, acting as a bridge into that ecosystem.

Is Unit audited?+

Our review did not credit audits within scope and found no public status page. That is a transparency gap from our vantage point, not proof of a flaw.

What does CoinPulsePoint assess for Unit?+

Value in scope, chain reach, endpoint latency, audits and status-page availability. We do not track fees, custody attestations or support quality.
