How it works
You send your deposit, SimpleSwap sources the counter-asset and forwards it, holding funds briefly in between. The float model means the swap depends on the operator delivering, and a problem is handled by support rather than reversed on-chain. Rate type and settlement time depend on the pair you choose.

No account is needed to start a swap, but verification can be requested on flagged transactions. We do not verify fees or rates. Confirm the quote and network fees before sending, and test small on unfamiliar pairs.
Where a slower response fits the picture
Our roughly 486 ms reading is not alarming on its own, and it does not mean your swap will be slow to settle, which depends on the networks involved. But combined with the lack of a public status page, it means you have less visibility into how the service is performing at the moment you transact. When both the live speed signal and the transparency signal are weaker, the sensible response is caution rather than avoidance: keep test amounts small, confirm the quote and its expiry, and do not rely on it for time-critical transfers.
Fit
Fine for users who want a no-signup swap and value a multi-year record. The slower probe response and lack of a status page make it less appealing where measured speed and uptime visibility matter.
