What Is QuickSwap? The Multi-Chain DEX That Started on Polygon

QuickSwap is a decentralized exchange (DEX) where you swap tokens and provide liquidity straight from your own wallet. Trades run against smart-contract liquidity pools, not an order book or a company's balance sheet. It began on Polygon PoS and, as of October 2026, its docs list nine supported networks, including Base and Ethereum 12. QuickSwap runs three pool designs (V2, V3 and V4) and also offers limit orders, farms and a perpetuals venue. Holders of its QUICK token vote on protocol changes 567.

Who is behind QuickSwap

QuickSwap's documentation names three co-founders. Nick Mudge is the author of the EIP-2535 "Diamond" smart-contract standard. Sameep Singhania co-founded the blockchain firm Ginete Technologies. Roc Zacharias is described as CEO of the marketing firm Lunar Digital Assets 1. The docs describe QuickSwap as a DAO-governed project. They do not name a legal company that operates the website 7.

Launch dates differ by source. The docs say October 2021 1. A DappRadar profile says February 2021 13. Other public records cite 2020. QuickSwap was clearly running before October 2021, since QUICK holders were voting on a token split by March 2022 12.

How a swap works on QuickSwap

A QuickSwap trade is a transaction between your wallet and a pool contract. No account is needed. You connect a wallet, pick the tokens, approve the token you are selling and confirm the swap. The interface offers several routes 5:

  • Best Trade (default) searches across V2, V3 and V4 pools, using the Kyberswap and Paraswap APIs to find a route. It cannot handle tokens with transfer taxes. For those, use V2 Market.
  • V2 / V3 / V4 Market restricts the trade to one pool type and its own router.
  • Limit and DCA orders run through a third-party integration with Orbs. DCA splits a trade into timed chunks.

Your final price depends on pool depth. Larger trades relative to a pool get worse rates, which shows up as slippage 3. You also pay the network's gas fee on every approval and swap.

V2, V3 and V4 pools

V2 is a classic constant-product automated market maker, the same design popularized by Uniswap. Each pool holds two tokens, and trades must keep the product of the reserves (x × y = k) constant. The docs set the fee at 0.30% per trade, added to the pool for liquidity providers (LPs). They note it could later become 0.25% to LPs plus 0.05% to the protocol 3. The V2 contracts are described as non-upgradeable and open source under the GPL 3.

V3 and V4 use concentrated liquidity, licensed from Algebra. LPs place liquidity inside a chosen price range. That uses capital more efficiently, but the position stops earning fees once the price leaves the range, until it is rebalanced 4. QuickSwap integrates outside active liquidity managers (ALMs) such as Gamma, which rebalance and compound positions automatically 4. An ALM adds its own smart-contract layer and its own risk. The docs pages reviewed do not list V3/V4 fee levels; check the pool in the app.

For developers, the docs publish Polygon addresses. These include the V2 router (0xa5E0829CaCEd8fFDD4De3c43696c57F7D7A678ff), the V3 swap router (0xf5b509bB0909a69B1c207E495f687a596C168E12) and the V4 SwapRouter (0x96FeF39089380F4319e8eF01aA8338615C36f1BB) 10. Always copy addresses from the official docs page, not from a search result or a chat message.

Supported chains

QuickSwap's docs list nine networks as of October 2026 2:

Network Note in docs
Polygon PoS Original deployment; swap, LP, farm, stake
Base Swap and LP; QUICK staking runs here 8
Ethereum Swaps through aggregators such as Kyber and Orbs
Manta Pacific Launched November 2023
Immutable zkEVM Gaming-focused zk rollup
Soneium, X Layer, Somnia, Mantra Listed as live deployments

Features vary by chain. Bonds, for example, are only on Polygon PoS 9. Check that the app shows the network you expect before you sign anything.

Other products

  • Farms: stake LP tokens in selected V2 or V3 pairs to earn extra token rewards on top of trading fees 4.
  • Bonds: buy a partner project's tokens at a discount, paid in LP tokens or a single asset, with the tokens vesting over a term. This runs on Polygon PoS through ApeBond. The docs warn that ROI can be negative 9.
  • QuickPerps: a perpetual futures venue on Base and Polygon, built by Orbs and hosted by QuickSwap. The docs say it offers up to 150x leverage on more than 300 assets. Whitelisted "hedgers" act as the counterparty and hedge on venues including Binance futures 6. That is a different trust model from the spot AMM. Leverage of this kind can liquidate a position quickly.

The QUICK token

QUICK is QuickSwap's governance and staking token. The docs give a total supply of 1 billion, about 656 million circulating and 106.2 million burned. These figures change over time 8. In 2022, holders voted to split the original token 1:1000, raising supply from 1 million to 1 billion 12. The old QUICK token "does not have any utility" now. It can be converted to new QUICK through the app's converter 8.

The docs say QUICK had no private or public sale, and 96.75% of supply was reserved for the community, mostly as liquidity-mining rewards. Treasury funds sit in a multisig wallet 8. Holders vote on proposals posted to Snapshot (quickvote.eth) 7. QUICK staking is currently only available on Base, at a variable rate 8.

Risks to understand

  • Smart-contract and approval risk. Every swap starts with a token approval. Approving unlimited amounts to any contract is a standing permission. Revoke ones you no longer use.
  • Impermanent loss. LPs can end up worth less than simply holding the two tokens if prices diverge. On V3/V4, out-of-range positions earn nothing 4.
  • Token risk. Anyone can create a pool for any token. A listing on QuickSwap is not a vetting of the token.
  • Fake sites. Bookmark the official app and docs. QuickSwap support never needs your seed phrase.

Questions about QuickSwap

Is QuickSwap only on Polygon?
No. It started there, but the docs list nine networks, including Base and Ethereum (via aggregators) 2.
What is QuickSwap V3?
QuickSwap's concentrated-liquidity pools, licensed from Algebra. LPs choose a price range instead of covering all prices 4.
What fee does QuickSwap charge?
V2 pools charge 0.30% per trade, paid to liquidity providers. Gas is extra 3.
What happened to the old QUICK token?
A 2022 vote split it 1:1000. Old QUICK has no utility and can be converted to new QUICK in the app 812.
Do I need an account to use QuickSwap?
No. You connect a self-custody wallet and sign transactions yourself.
